I finished it in four days roughly. Loved the story. I’ve been sexually assaulted in the past and it was something I can relate to by the end of the book I realize that I’m not fully healed from the trauma

Was not at all what I was hoping for.
There was so much hype on this book.
The topic was very interesting, but it went no where.
Characters never really developed.
Story line went flat line very quickly and stayed there.
Do not think I will be adding most read this author on my further list.

First book after getting back into it in 10 years + its a smooth read, trigger warning though as it contains scenes with rape. Easy to read, love how the author writes, will definitely read her the second part of this book, I think its called: “the way I am” This book was recommended from the book group that I am following on facebook: BookTok Baddies.

Told throughout the different stages of her teenage life, this story brought an immense sense of real/raw emotion. The author was able to create the best possible narrative of the moments throughout the story. As the reader, you were able to understand, envision and FEEL the rollercoaster of emotions. At times I wanted to close the book, throw it but during these times , it’s when you felt the characters heartache, confusion, hurt and more hurt.. the most. I think this novel was steady throughout. Not leaving any questions unanswered (as the story wasn’t about the repercussions ‘per say’) but rather about Eden coming forward; being able to come forward. Definitely a good read. 8.5/10 ⭐️

I had to stop reading every so often to wipe the tears away as I got to the end of the book. Such a powerful story about a broken innocence that wreaks havoc on a young girls life. It is a chaotic whirlwind that seems impossible to escape, and the bravery needed to face the truth is always a far reach away seeming impossible to grasp. This book reaches into the tormented mind of a victim of SA in an incredible way that can give the reader somewhat of an understanding of how the human mind processes abuse, and how difficult it can be to reach out for help. Amber Smith has knocked this one out of the park.

Just started this book a week ago and so far it’s hard to put down. It really paints the picture of the trauma we go through as a young victim of abuse and you can’t help but feel for this girl. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but she is very descriptive and a great story teller. Give it a read!
