The author states at the end of the book that he's unsure when the story will conclude, that he's still enjoying the developments. This is particularly disheartening as I think he's lost control of the plot, the pace and focus has been lost.
I appreciate that it's fiction, that reality has been suspended in order to appreciate the rage induced virus and global warfare, but why then throw in time travel? Must we now continually repeat things until an acceptable outcome is achieved? All the author has achieved by adding this 'Groundhog Day' addition to the story is kill any sense of risk and suspense. Who cares now if the main characters fail? We can just jump back 36hrs and try again. I liken it to killing any sense of accomplishment of completing a game, by cheating and using cheat codes.
The author then ' insult to injury' by resurrecting characters who have since past. I wonder if the author has been watching old Doctor Who or Dallas re-runs? Maybe the next book will begin with the main character having dreamt it all, just like Bobby Ewing in Dallas?
I've invested a lot of time and money in this series. I expected a conclusion but now feel cheated and frustrated. I won't be continuing .

Another fantastic read. I always read the authors note, i find it gives me a tiny insight into an author i admire and enjoy their books. I shook my head in bewilderment after reading Mr Pattons last author's note. If you want the books to end, please realise many, many, many of us dont. I personally do not care how long they go on. I love the world of Dog and Jon, and after the excellent twist at the end ill love it even more now !!!!! she is one of my absolute favorite characters in this series. The fact that the writer was sent hate mail over the time travel plot line, blew me away. Time travel doesn't exist, its not possible. If i want to write a time travel book, where the means to achieving time travel is banging two of my expensive shoes together, hoping on one foot, while scratching my bottom, i can, because its hypothetical. I dont write this book because i dont have the talent it takes to keep a reader entertained for hours at a time, spinning an excellent storyline. I dont care how he achieved it, sounded good enough to me. I read for the storyline and pure escapism of these books, the strong female characters he has and some of the best male characters ive read, oh and Dog, who is another GSD who brings my ones back to life while im reading. if i want an education in the mysteries of the universe ill go listen to Stephen Hawkins. Personally, thank you Mr Patton for the many hours and days and months you spend to entertain us.

sooooo onto the book, Gutted over one of the characters in this, and to be fair i did want to kick Jon in the danglies for not listening to his Commanding Officer. i liked Agent Bering coming along for the ride. and as always Jon and Lucas bounce of each other perfectly.
Waiting on the next one!!!

Wow what can I say frankly the best book series of this genre....i fell in love with this series from the first one and I've encountered every emotion reading these and again I'm not disappointed....the characters are amazing and the twists and turns incredible. The journey of the characters is always unknown and adds to the excitement....cant wait for the next instalment 😀
