A cute book, my children do like to read it - my son is almost 3, and my daughter just turned one - but its not our favorite. We have a large library of lift-the-flap books, and I've found several that are very sturdy and hearty and original. This book is on the middle level of durability, geared to an older child, with thinner smaller flaps. I'd say age 2 and up based on the flap thinness/size.
The pages are nice and thick, though. The best part is the last page, where each "furry Friend" is hiding behind a door - my son still loves to open the doors (at this point one door is missing). Another missing flap is where the mouse is hiding behind the curtain.
What I like about this book is the everyday details. There is a monkey in the shower, and in the picture is shampoo, a hairdryer, a towel and robe, slippers, etc. Its great tool to quiz young children on their words.
What I dislike, besides the actual flaps, is the words themselves - they are not very imaginative. Example "Someone's asleep in the bed. Who is it? Its Doggy!" or "Someone's in the shower. Who is it? Its Monkey!" Its boring.
Better lift-the-flap books for young children (age 6mos +) would be the "If you see a Whale" series, and "Where is Babies Belly Button?".
