This book was pretty funny. With each person the author summed up why they made this book, with a lot of humor. I had no idea about some of these people it was interesting to read about how these Women got themselves into such crazy situations. Boy oh boy what money will do.

H so why no reviews because they are all negative I’m appalled that this was even published and is on sale on Amazon I would not have this book even if it was free !! I would not recommend this book based on the lack of descriptive biographies of these women. Peggy Guggenheim was a very interesting person and I felt there could of been more interesting information given to bring her character alive. Also disappointing was the quotes for instance comparing Edwina’s boarding school to the likes of Jane Eyres school Lowood, now since I did read Jane Eyre I got it , but to tell you the truth it’s kinda lazy writing. You’re the writer uses some descriptive details. Anyhow if you have a day to waste it’s an easy read. Probably get a better biography of these ladies on google or even Vanity Fair magazine. Sorry 2/5 rating from me.

Very interesting and it certainly convinces you that you don't want to be rich. Now, nicely comfortable is great. It was hard to put down.

2.0 out of 5 stars It is a depressing book

I was disappointed with this book - looking for historical background not only on the women but the times they lived in I found stories about ultra rich women who squandered their fortunes.
I was interested in the arranged marriages between rich American women and British nobles who needed money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Biased and gossipy book

It's easy to write about people who can't defend themselves most of these women have passed away. I found this book to be a tabloid version of each woman's life . This book is full of empty phrases and meaningless words to fill up space. Everyone's life has problems rich or poor it doesn't matter. This author seems to get a high off everyone's misfortune. She quotes everyone the bible, celebrities, poets. the National Enquirer etc. As if this justifies the sarcastic and snide comments she makes about every woman's life. It's hard to believe that this book was written by an English teacher. What a bad role model to her students. Very tasteless book, she has a holier then thou attitude . I like to see someone air her dirty laundry.
