This book is not well edited. There were hundreds of typos, grammatical errors, and even times where the word Dom and Sub have been switched. I also thought the book had gender stereotypes. Often it would use masculine pronouns when talking about the Dom, assuming that the Dom is going to be a man, which is often not the case. I also think some of the tips for women were sexists.

As a person just starting out in BDSM, I did learn some helpful things from this book. There is still some value in reading it. However I would suggest that others use additional resources when learning about BDSM. This book is like an introduction pamphlet, good for getting the general word out, but doesn't have a lot of hard information.
