This is probably the best selling book 📚 in smoking 🚬 cessation history and the first time you read it is groundbreaking, but there is a caveat, in that if you read it once and fall back into smoking again, it seems the next time you read it again, it won’t “click “ again. Though I would definitely 💯 recommend it, it does have some weaknesses, with at times an overly simplistic view of the subtle aspects of addiction.

I don't relate to a lot in this book? Not sure why, I've been a smoker for way too long and I need to quit but this book is taking me sooooo long to finish? Need to find something else.

He makes a lot of excellent points but for a REAL addict/alcoholic like myself I’m not sure how useful this method will be.I’ve tried all the alternatives and substitutes: vaping, nicotine gum, nicotine lozenges, smokeless tobacco and they ALL have just kept me hopelessly hooked to nicotine. My alcoholism is a disease of craving more and more of anything that feels good BUT Allan’s book makes a very good point: nicotine doesn’t make you feel good! When you start using it you get a very slight body buzz which is really just your body’s reaction to being poisoned. Then you keep chasing that buzz which turns into fighting withdrawals for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! So unless I want to be a slave and keep sacrificing thousands of dollars to the little nicotine monster I should just cut off it’s supply completely and let it die like the book says. Fingers crossed! Today I’ve had my final lozenge we’ll see how it goes.
