I am very interested on the topic of the Lunar Nodes. I first became acquainted with the topic through Jan Spiller's book: Astrology for the Soul. That book is a fairly widespread resource on the topic, addressing each house and each sign. It was a fair introduction to the topic and I would say a good place for beginners. I then purchased a book called Lunar Nodes by Celeste Teal which is simply fantastic. It is a comprehensive review of the North and South Nodes by Sign and House, each planets conjunct, trine or square each nodes, planets trasiting the Nodes, Transits of the Nodes to planets, Progressions and... in Synastry. It is also stable and balanced. This is a great book for people looking for more depth and insight.

Wanting to explore and add to my knowledge, I purchased this book. I am disappointed. This book is .... complete rubbish. Far from being a resource, it addresses the Venus on the South Node and which body parts might go missing (?!) and moves on from there. It is not systematic, is full of anecdotal references and quite simply lacking in objective information. I spent 10 minutes giving it a fair review and was progressively more and more disappointed. This is the first book I've returned to Amazon. Proceed cautiously or save your time and money. Celeste Teal's book is much more worth your investment.

Might be useful as a reference but not a core text . Also lots of stuff the smacks of Medieval soothsaying . I'll Keep this book as a curious reference but their are in my opinion much better core books on this topic . And one needs to have a wide deep understanding of Astrology to be able to apply node info . Hill is adamant about things I believe are moot and way too much certainty on medical afflictions and physical characteristics in regards to nodes . I have many astrology books and so many of the Charts in these books are just plan wrong And yet so definite , especially books written before computing charts . Why yesterday I was looking at a reading of Charles Dickens but the chart was wrong yet the Astrologer has a definite answer for everything in his life . Many Astrologers and their clients have unfulfilled religious needs seeking certainty .
Also the format of the book is from a translated lecture so it really hoge poge . I own one of this authors books on body types with is also ordinary .
I haven't as yet found a definitive book on Nodes . Tracy Marks in The astrology of Self Discovery has a good long section on nodes which is clear and sensible . Martin Schulman is way too emphatic for my taste in long abstruse analysis . Isabel Hickey has simple straight forward definitions in a small section . And astrology for the soul by jan spiller is so longwinded that one the meaning or definition gets lost , so vague is closer .

This book is for someone who is grounded in basics of Astrology (Planets, Signs and Houses - if you are not familiar with basics, I recommend either "The Inner Sky by Stephen Forrest, or "All Around the Zodiac" by Bill Tierney),

The moon's nodes show the flow of spiritual energy entering and leaving our souls - just like we eat food in one end and out the other we continually take in spirit and convert it to experience. When spiritual energy quits flowing through us, we are dead! And the way we each take it in and let it go is unique to each of us. So this is worth thinking about! This is a very worthwhile topic that is frequently overlooked by many Astrologers. The book gives a very thorough treatment including transits by the Nodes (something that almost nobody talks about, but I think you'll see that they have been doing some important stuff in your life) to natal points and transits by planets to the natal nodes. Understanding the moon's nodes is a pre-requisite for one of the most interesting and provocative topics in Astrology: Karma and reincarnation.

This is book is absolutely awesome because it gives examples of manifestations and when I checked with my clients and family members they prove so many situations. I absolutely recommend this book to read. It's also an easy read. I have ordered other books from this author too.

Useful but severely impaired by New Age ideology

The litereally believed amalgamation of the traditional doctrines of "transmigration" and "metempsychosis" into the theory of "re-incarnation" by the US-American spiritist medium Allan Kardec in the 19th century, later followed by theosophists etc., is a simple absurdity but has become a fundamental New Age dogma. Nevertheless, it signicantly obscures and impairs its believers' astrological judgement. For a patient, detailed explanation of the absurdity of "re-incarnation", see René Guénon's The Spiritist Fallacy (Guenon, Rene. Works.) translated into English. The quasi-religious belief in "re-incarnation and karma" may be compared symbolically to deliberately ignoring the Sun's proper motion in the direction of the solar apex in astronomy / astrology.

Mixed with a dose of cultural underlying Abrahamic theology (individual "sin", guilt, etc.), "karma and re-incarnation" often become in this book and others by authors of similar religious beliefs a superficial moralistic "pot pourri" pretending to explain much but in fact remaining vague and vain excuses for succinct astrological delineations.

Why 3 stars instead of 1? What is left of Ms Judith Hill's book without its New Age ideological impairment is astrologically useful, often exhibits skills of synthesis and astute chart analysis in respect of the Lunar Nodes. Should Ms Hill write a revised addition, she is kindly requested to not merely refer marginally to the Hamburg School of astrology but to specifically integrate into its perspectives her insights concerning the Lunar Nodes, e.g. with improved and / or supplementary planetary pictures.
