Good jumping off point

We found this a bit tough for a beginner in grade 1 but by about December it starts to be relevant (after more 3/4 letter sound out word practice). I use a page to start a lesson/discussion about different English writing/reading “rules” (ee or ea say E... e on the end of a word makes the other vowel say it’s name...etc). I wish there was a bit more repetition (maybe 2 full pages per word group so you could review the next day) but it’s still decent. We use it among other books for grade 1 homeschooling.
