I had very good experience with all my previous purchases of Gorilla Glue but they were all the small size bottles. So this time I thought I should buy a bigger bottle to last it for a while and my first test was trying to glue my Reebok sole that separated from the upper. There was absolutely no bonding between the 2 surfaces. I then tried a couple of other surfaces and noticed the same problem. I suspect either it a QA rejected bottle or a fake bottle or poor quality control.
The glue is very "watery" and it does not stick right away. The label on the bottle says open work time is "10 - 15 minutes", which is not true. You would have to hold two pieces together and wait at least 30 minutes before the glue takes effect. This is particularly bad for me because I was trying to glue a wind-shield strip to my patio door: the strip keeps falling off because the glue is so slippery! Eventually I had to stand there and press the strip for more than 10 minutes, then I thought it worked. However, when I checked back later, the glue did solidify but the strip slipped down a bit and it was misaligned and wrinkled, and there was yellow glue knots everywhere! Sorry my patio door, I failed you!
I specifically purchased Gorilla Glue because I thought it would be the best product for my project. I glued two glass vases together as part of a birdfeeder project I was making. The glue dried and appeared to be ok. But when I picked it up teo days later, it came apart. I almost dropped and broke my vase. I was very disappointed and probably won’t risk failure on any other if my projects.
Not really a fan of this glue. It expands quite a bit, making it nearly useless in delicate or precise situations. The adhesion is pretty good with most materials and the glue itself is pretty firm once set.
The main issue I encountered was that even though it was sealed properly and stored to the package specifications, it still managed to completely solidify inside it's own bottle and become completely useless. I was only able to use about a 5th of it before the rest was no longer useful. Won't buy again
I thought this product would dry quickly but the instructions said to use a clamp and allow to dry for 2 hours. The product ran down the front of my cabinet after I had walked away and left me with a huge mess. I threw it away.
