Works great and lasts about 10 years.

I have one of these on my basement fridge (which doesn't stay closed without help). An absolute necessity to prevent power wastage, in my case.
I bought my first one a good ten years ago, and it's only just starting to fail (plastic flex tab is cracking across the stress point). I like it enough that I've ordered a new one to replace it. I think it would make a good toilet seat latch too (if you don't mind that it's adhesive (pretty agressively adhesive, too). Be sure to clean the contact areas with alcohol and buff it dry before applying the adhesive pads. Works a treat!
BTW, the instructions clearly state to allow the adhesive pads to "cure" before using. To assist with the curing, and to prevent adhesive failure, be sure to apply some sticky masking tape over the latch ends to assist to securing the strap and catchment tab onto their places for at least 24 hours, then you can remove it again. If you don't, the adhesive pads don't cure properly and can lose adhesion. Once cured, they are truly stuck on... for keeps! :)
