I an extremely disappointed with this product. I purchased the item in September and although it was easy to install, the lock mechanism is very cheaply made. I went to unlock it after having it on the car less than 2 months. First the plastic lock cover just snapped off and then the key wouldn’t open the lock. As a result, I had to take my car to a shop to have it removed as they weren’t able to open with the key either. I am apparently unable to return the defective product as the window for return has expired and am now out an additional $107 to have it removed. I hadn’t expected anything like this given Thule is supposed to be a reputable brand!!
