Great, sturdy bike rack

I bought a bike in June and that was hard enough to find, given the global bike shortage during Covid-19, but nobody local had any trunk/hatch mounted bike racks at all, and no idea when they'd be in stock again. I found this one online and for less than what I would have paid in store. It took a while to arrive (not the seller's fault - Covid has disrupted everything lately and the initial shipment estimate was accurate) but I received it yesterday and set it up with ease in minutes & was off for a ride soon after. It is very sturdy and seems good quality. Highly recommend!

Absolute Garbage

It broke at the first use and damaged my car. Couldn't even use it even once. Returned it right away. I don't recommend at all.

I think the bike rack that is installed on your hitch is the way to go, I don’t have a hitch, so I bought this one. No matter how tight you pull the straps, bc there is elastic in them, the bikes move around a lot while driving. I had 2 bikes on it and it made me nervous. There is a foam covered bar that unfolds and is a lower support, that part kept sliding up.

El producto llegó en una caja rota y muy maltratada, adentro solo venía el soporte solo medio sujetado por 6 pequeñas ligas sin bolsa y sin instructivo, revise el soporte y estaba ok, al instalarlo fue "fácil" pero no tenía los sujetadores suficientes para un perfecto agarre, colocamos las bicicletas y al trasladarlas las 2 varillas delgadas plateadas que según dan soporte al soporte para que mantenga la forma se safaban con facilidad y me sucedió 3 veces por lo que por eso daño tanto la cajuela del coche como también daño la 1era bicicleta que queda pegada a la cajuela, por lo que tuve que regresar y aplicar reembolso.

I've had one of these racks since March of 2009. I've quit using the rack completely, partly because it was tearing up my car and partly because it does not hold bikes very securely. Detailed complaints:

1) The rack is stated to carry 3 bikes but it is not big or strong enough to do so. It carries one bike OK.
2) The rack lacks side straps (it should mount with 6 straps not 4) so it has no lateral support (it will shift sideways in a sharp turn).
3) The upper trunk clips scratch up the trunk (other brands have thicker rubber on the clips).
4) The lower clips dig into the bumper.
5) The rack includes no method of securing the lower portion of the bicycles so the bikes swing in the cradles.
6) The lower bumper put serious dents in my trunk!!!
7) The rack requires an adapter when trying to carry a woman's bike that lacks a proper top-tube.

Save your money and get a hitch mount!

Finally after a little over a year of owning this item, I am writing a review. I use if for two adult bikes on my Mazda which has a spoiler. The design of the rack does not allow for a lot of clearance over the spoiler by the two small metal braces. When I add the bikes, the rack is sitting just barely over the spoiler and when I go over bumps the rack damages the spioler and chips the paint off. Not only that, the rubber padding leaves a mark on my trunk. I wish I spent more money and got a better product. It depends on the car and the weight of the bikes you are trying to transport. If you have a car like the audi TT that is pictured you wont have issues with the metal braces. Transporting three bikes would be not be advised.

Damages your car

Easy to assemble and use. But very damaging to your car and hardly fits three bikes. It was difficult to fit three bikes on there without figuring out a way for each of them not to get in the way of each other and securely sit on their holders. The mount also managed to somehow damage my cars paint in areas via the unprotected metal jjnges or even the foam protectors. So rating for security and ease of assembly, but would not recommend product.

We have needed a bike rack for awhile I liked the price of this one and it looked sturdy enough for hauling three bikes. When looking at this it gave me the option to check my vehicle to make sure it fits.. My car was said to work for this rack. Upon getting this I went out and put it on the car.. This does not fit my car like the instructions say. It took some trial and error and found a way to still use this with my car so I don't have to hassle with trying to return and finding another one..as a product it works very well with all the right straps and securing brackets.. I added a couple bungees just to be safe..

This is very difficult to get onto the back of the car. I finally had to have my son get in the back and hold straps while I closed the trunk door. I have two bikes that won't fit in the way they should. One takes every bit of strength I have to force it in and the other I have to use zip ties and/or bungee cords to attach it. I had hoped to use it when we go camping, but there is no way we will be able to do that. Very disappointed in it.

Installating the rack by myself on the back hatch of my Mazda CX3 is so tedious that I dread using it at all. The straps that secure the bike on the rack are too short to be useful and really just ought to be velcro.

It really scratched the paint off my car!!.. I do not recommend buying unless you don’t care about having to pay for a trunk paint job! I will have to pay for a trunk lid paint job.
