We use a lot of garlic when we cook. While fresh is preferable, it's not always practical. I try the least expensive, and if it's good, we use it again.. In this case, the name brand McCormick granulated garlic is actually less expensive ($4.72 per lb currently at $7.67 for 26oz) than the store brands available locally, especially with subscribe and save, which saves me an additional 15%.
This garlic is more of a powder than granulate. Not as powdery as what you find in stores but I’m used to a bigger granulate. I will look maybe for starkest product next time. I like that one. So it’s ok. Just not up to what I’m used to in restaurant quality.
This granulated garlic is ground as fine as the garlic powder I have. I was expecting it to be similar to the granulated garlic I previously purchased - which was not this brand. Good garlic powder but like I said .. not really granulated.
I appreciate the size, price, and freshness. However, the flavor seemjngly fades once applied to heat. I love garlic, and use it daily. This brand is not as bold in flavor as expected. But it works. I just use more.
This has more flavor and better than small jars at grocery store. I use it on almost everything but like the larger size because I make all my own BBQ Rubs for my smoker. It was convenient to order from Amazon because I was buying numerous spices. I'm sure there are even fresher and stronger spices out there, but the price and convenience works for me.
