To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Love this machine! The sound is great and there are lots of settings to be able to tailor the sound and mix of the music and your voice to your liking. The video sometimes looks a little weird but I'm not sure if that is caused by the machine or the disc. Nevertheless, you can still read the words on the screen clearly. Would've been even better if there were a/v or hdmi inputs so that other devices can be used with it.
1.0 out of 5 starsDon't waste your money on this product. The price doesn't reflect the quality.

So much less than I had hoped for. For the peice, I was very dissapointed. Hard to adjust mic to match speaker output. Has a low annoying hum and feed back if too close to speakers. Would never buy again.
Needed a BACK-UP PLAYER so ordered this unit. When I started playing CD-G's I started getting extraneous images (JUNK)and residue along with the text. I'm in the process of trying to make sure it's not my CD-G's causing the problem before I ask to return the VOCOPRO DVX-890K DVD Karaoke Player . Played on primary player (VocoPro DVG 888KII)and issue disappeared. Returned and had a replacement (same type machine) sent. Received and had the same problem. Tried on primary (VocoPro DVG 888KII)and again issue disappeared. Returned with no replacement order this time. I would like to purchase a Karaoke Player as a back up unit THAT WORKS!!!Very Discouraging. By the way, VocoPro doesn't make the DVG 888KII Model any longer or I would have purchased that same model. Have had it over a year and it works very well. Still would like to purchase a back-up unit; Not sure where to go from here; UPDATE: decided to buy a VOCOPRO DVG-777K-III Karaoke Player. Although disappointed with the VOCOPRO DVX-890K DVD Karaoke Player (returned two in a row), I am really sold on VocoPro Products overall (Have an AMP, Recorder, and Speakers, and Primary Player that are VocoPro)...Bob Diaz
As a professional DJ, i bought a lot of equipments. I purchased 5 pcs DVX890K Karaoke Player from Amazon warehouse but 3 of them are dead on arrival. Then I bought 2 brand new but 1 of them also have the same problem. It seems like the there are serious QA problems of these players which make them deserve only one star. However, amazon customer service is top notch and is 5 stars, therefore overall rating I would give is 3 stars.
Not that I intend to use it professionally, I just want something that will sound good when I run it through my stereo system. Which I did not get to experience because the disc tray would not open. Had to send it back and wait another week to even find out if it's something that would work for me. Now that I have finally received the replacement I'll say that it mostly does what I want it to do. It's pretty light weight, which is good for taking it to a friend's house, but it also gives it a really cheap feel...like if I pick it up wrong I'm going to break something inside of it. Hook ups are easy and understandable. Still figuring out the remote. Had to max the sound out at a party the other night, which is not good, and because the Mic volumes are independently controlled I have to spend a lot of time adjusting because different discs have different levels of sound quality. Miss my old Sound Machine, which finally wigged out after almost 10 years.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife, and as a Karaoke player it's decent enough. The microphones seem to be of good quality but the box itself feels a little flimsy, though that hasn't really presented a problem.
The biggest problem I have is that not matter what I do, no matter what I Google online... I simply CANNOT get the $#!+ microphones to play through the device itself. Seriously! I've ready many forums, blog posts, reviews, the whole shebang. If it wasn't for that, I'd give this a 4, maybe even 5 star rating.
