To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Purchased Dorman 746-159 door lock actuator for my 1998 Lincoln town car. It worked perfectly from November 28, 2019 until the first week of February 2020., and stopped working. Dorman products cost a little more because of being better quality. In this case the quality wasn't there. Now, can't get Amazon or Dorman to respond favorably to help. Hard to believe the car is 21 years old and none of the other door lock actuators have stopped working. This is the second door lock actuator I've purchased though Amazon. The first door lock actuator was less than half the cost of the Dorman, and it only lasted 3 weeks. If you order this actuator, be sure to check their warranty first. Gave the product a 5 star review. I was premature in valuing the product.
This actuator was installed on the front passenger door of a 1997 Ford E150 4.6L. Access is a bit tricky but it works. To mount the clip onto it, there's a trick to it that uses a larger screw and bolts. Check out the YouTube video for that and other tips! It's working well! This review is September of 2020. I'll update it if anything changes.
They work great, I deducted one star because the linkage rods are a pain and did not fit correctly so I had to make my own. Still a great price compared to local sources and once installed they work great.
works like it supposed to and the seller was really fast at shipping, it works well just not a fun job to do unless you are built like a skeleton and have the tiniest hands in the world, but everything pluged right in and they send everyoption of bars with it you just match yours up and throw the rest away. does not come with mounting hardware so u will need to reuse
While it looked as if it might be a pain to install it was actually quite simple. I used the wrong mounting posts the first attempt but after seeing my mistake a quick change and it works perfectly, thank you for a quality and inexpensive part.
Mounted two of these a couple days ago in a '97 Expedition. Works wonderfully! It's nice to have various options with the bars as I need different lengths for the front driver and rear passenger door. The design of the door made removal and installation challenging. I ended up removing the rivet on the drivers door to make things easier and replaced it with a bolt.
