The light came on and repurchased and noticed the last time I bought it from Amazon was 1 year ago at $25, it is now almost $50. Double the price in one year. That is ridiculous! Had to buy it because needed replacement. Will be looking into getting a new air purifier that the filter isn’t so expensive to replace.

Absolutely NOT the same quality they used to be

I feel totally and completely ripped off.

The original filters that came with my air filter were night and day better than these 'official replacements'. Even when we saved the originals and kept blowing them out with compressed air for more than an entire year before finally breaking down and replacing them with these, they still worked better. Even though the air filter units were struggling to push air through the clogged filters, they still worked better than these. Now I'm seriously regretting throwing them out. These are no better than the much cheaper, non-name-brand replacements I bought a while back. And promptly tossed, because they couldn't do the job they were meant to do.

The air in our non central-air house is now stale, leaving me to wonder how I'm going to afford some new air filter units from another company after throwing my money away on two of these 'replacements' ($72.28 for two, including tax).
I'm coughing, congested, and absolutely miserable. I may have to jury-rig something using the frame of this one.

The carbon pre-filters that come included with these new filters are ABSOLUTE TRASH. They're thin, see-through, and even the carbon pre-filters that came with my cheap no-name filters are better than these. I honestly wonder how the company expects them to be doing anything at all, other than blocking stray pet hair. Aren't they meant to help filter smells?
I'm guessing somebody figured they'd save some money by making them about 2/3 - 1/2 the thickness they used to be. If they've cheaped out there, I'm left wondering how they've cheaped out on the actual filters themselves. Because they are NOT the same anymore.

If you've got central air, these are probably fine. But if you don't... don't waste your money.

I bought this specific machine because these filters were affordable. Now they have jacked up the price so high they aren't worth it anymore! I'm not paying $50 for a basic filter! I'm so sick of these gouging corporations using inflation to their advantage. These cost absolutely NOWHERE near $50 to make.

I now buy the knock offs for less than $20 for TWO and they come with way better pre filters so you don't have to replace them often. I'll never buy a Germguardian product again!

Life is hard enough as it is right now for us "average" folks. I assure you the millionaire's creating these barbaric prices eat like kings and sleep like babies. I'm done supporting huge corporations!

I've purchased 2 of the units, which have both broken. I thought it was an issue with the filter so i kept replacing the filter, but it's an issue with the actual unit itself. Don't buy the GermGaurdian unit. It's awful and the customer service sucks. They refuse to offer any assistance.

new filter design is garbage. filter lasted 2 weeks in a kids bedroom before the change filter light came on and refused to accept the filter. tried vaccuming it but still wouldn't work. I put in the old filter design that came with the unit after vaccuming it and it still works fine.
The new filters also fit quite loose which allowed the air to just pull in along the side gaps instead of through the filter. I am now out the money spent as I am not willing to travel to the post office during a pandemic (which is why I used a delivery service) I will not be ordering germ guardian products again.

I paid $40.67for this filter B but I really dont think it worth it :( the carbon is way toooooo thin and even after replacing it my air purifier red light is still blinking and telling me to change the filter I just changed it to new one that i bought. I really dont think this new filter is working..my money is wasted :( There is no option to reach the person. I would like to get my money back..REFUND ME MY MONEY

I purchased this item using a product code, and the filter i received doesn't fit.
I'm very disappointed that there are no returns or exchanges, this was not specified anywhere or i would not be leaving this review. I now have a filter that does not fit my air purifier, and don't know what to do with it. And for this reason only, I will not purchase the "correct size" from here. Better off going to the product website directly.

I’ve only had the new filters in 11 days and it says change filter. It looks perfectly clean and my purifier has never indicated this so quickly in the past so it must be something wrong with the filters. It’s in my bedroom so not a super dirty place. Maybe not genuine and is doing something to mess us the sensor? If going to have problems should have just bought the knockoffs at 2 for practically the same price as the one.

Horrible quality for a product that is from the legitimate seller.

The filter has holes everywhere and is paper thin compared to my last filter.
I would skip germ guardian products altogether and go for a better brand than to keep buying shody products.

I have the older 5000 model. I went into my Amazon history and re-ordered a replacement filter. They’ve changed the filters to match the new models and it’s 2 inches shorter. There are no returns on this product either.

My fault for not double checking, however there's no return/exchange policy stated on the product page (at least for mobile) and you only find out after purchase that you can't return it, so out cash and have two useless filters
