Good idea to change freeze plugs if engine is being freshened up. These are made of brass so no need to worry about them rusting out like the steel ones. Kit includes complete set for SBC 350. Also includes oil galley and rear camshaft plug. Replace all of them to ensure no coolant leaks once engine is back in car. Coat with Indian head gasket shellac and install and you are done.

First engine build and I'm glad I went with these. They look great and you can feel the quality. The brass casting plugs ring like bells. I may get another set to make a chime. Use a small amount of gasket shallac on the casting/freeze plugs. I used Indian Head by Permatex and it seems to have worked great. All the other pipe-thread plugs are quality.
