To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I'd been avoiding this book probably because I expected working with parans to be difficult. I succumbed to it during a recent chest cold and it turned out to be so clearly and well written that I had no trouble getting my one-track mind off the ecliptic. Brady's discussion of the history, charting methods, and meanings of the stars/constellations are enjoyable and enlightening, often providing a constructive viewpoint where classical interpretations do not. Computers make it unnecessary for astrologers to watch the sky, and this book has encouraged me to change my habits on that count. Unlike many astrology books, this one left me feeling ~better-educated~ and ecouraged me to research further on my own. Very useful for evaluating charts with questionable birth times. Looking forward to seeing what wider use of this method may yield over the next few years. And here's hoping Brady will develop a report module for Solar Fire!
A complete and concise work and should be a mandatory text that every aspiring astrologer owns. Delving into this facet of Astrology will serve you well, increasing your knowledge and comprehension exponentially. This book opened an additional doorway for me into Astrology's interior domain, and cast a most beautiful and prolific light on a revered craft. I am most grateful to have Ms. Brady's books on my night table, as I consider them highly specialized within the field and equally important to use for dynamic horoscope delineation. I can't over-emphasize the need to include the use of fixed stars, for a horoscope cast without them is not structurally sound, and severely lacking. I'm surprised to have only recently learned of them after nearly thirty years of passionate self study. An enigma, really. All of the authors books are insightful and engaging, and "Brady's Book of Fixed Stars" is chock full of techniques and methodologies to keep you busy adjusting your charts interpretations to the tenor of her teaching. She will go down in history as one of Astrologies Greats.
this is an excellent book on the subject of what to do with fixed stars in astrology, the current point of view is presented through the development of ideas on the subject that started long ago. What is interesting is this historical approach, as one can judge how concepts evolved or were forgotten. The revival of the original concepts is presented with numerous diagrams in order to fully understand the problems. Then each important star or group of them is presented with their potential effects on a given chart, how to use this information is up to each astrologers, however, methodology is well presented with the limitations every one should know on the use of this precious material.
Loved this book, as it provided a way of working with the fixed stars as if they were planets in astrology. Or, not planets, but elements of a tremendously complicated story. Well explained astrological concepts underlined with easy-to-follow mathematics and storytelling tools. I really grooved on this book.
Bernadette Brady is obviously one of the great teachers of astrologers today in the modern world. The lady is trained in astronomy, astrology, the Christian religion, mythology and obliviously a Wiccan priestess. Those are only a few of her areas of expertise. She has with this book brought the ancient use of the fixed stars back into traditional western astrology. Since writing her books she has graduated with a master's degree in Astrology and Cultural Astronomy from Bath Spa University in England. She is a principal at Astro Logas and is authoress of "Starlight", an amazing astronomy/astrology program.
