How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Loved this book - I recommend reading this first you are considering the Traction system, so you can get an idea of how it might solve some problems (or not) for you. Then get Traction to get the actual guide. You definitely see the books that influenced the authors in the pages - Rockafeller Habits, 7 Habits, etc, but this book ties it together into a coherent system that is much simpler than at least Rockafeller.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous tale of EOS Implementation

This book "Get A Grip" is the first book I've read about the EOS, followed by the TRACTION book. "Get A Grip" has not only narrated in vivid detail the tale of an EOS Implementation in a fictional company, but also succinctly explained every one of the six parts of the EOS as well as each one of the 20 tools used in the whole process. I am really awed by the simplicity, pragmatism and the enormous power of the EOS as the way of how any business should be run. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and am quite enthused about becoming a proponent of EOS for entrepreneurial businesses.

Really enjoyed Get a Grip after reading Traction, as reading the EOS methodology in story form helped make it real for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars great story around EOS Traction system

EOS looks a lot like Verne Harnish's Gazelles system but adds an extra little bit. I read this book before Traction, but after doing a 2-hr session with Mike Payton at MIT.

It describes the EOS system well, but also adds some of the real-life issues you will deal with while implementing it.

Very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raconté sous la forme d'une histoire, ce livre est super intéressant et les outils EOS sont simples.
Reviewed in Canada on July 2, 2021

5.0 out of 5 stars There are other business books out there, but this one hit the spot for me

This isn't rocket science - fortunately. Get a Grip is one of those books that uses a fictitious case study so as to draw out all the learnings that the book is aiming to teach. The person who recommended it to me said that I'd recognise each and every character in the book as someone in the business, and he was right.

It's an easy read, and whilst it has it's own nomenclature, if you've read any other business development books you'll be able to transpose certain concepts/names/descriptions. The trick isn't recognising the things that are going on/wrong, or the tools used to fix them; it's physically doing stuff about it.

I decided to get the entire team (we're small) a copy of the book, and then to engage with a business coach to ensure we check in regularly to hit our rocks (milestones). It's a good book if you're getting to a stage of feeling overwhelmed by it all, and want a direction or pathway to go down. There are other books out there, but this one hit the spot for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful read

My employer is starting on the journey of EOS.

I found the book useful and insightful. However there were too many acronyms that weren't expanded enough times ... I didn't discover what V/TO was for a long time after seeing it, and quickly forgot what IDS stood for.

A good book for any business owners whose business has stalled and how to get the right staff in the right positions to help it to the next level. By using a fabled company it helps the reader to understand the examples given.

Worth the read

3.0 out of 5 stars Eher ein Roman
Reviewed in Germany on March 5, 2022

Get a Grip, will im Grunde das EOS System näher bringen.
