This bike rack is very good for one bike if you do not want to remove the pedals from both bicycles prior to travel. I noticed that my 60 cm road bike would not fit without the pedals touching the car. If the pedals are removed, two bikes can comfortably fit on this rack during travel. If you are using a road bike that has been fitted to your body, you may not want to adjust your pedals every time you plan to travel, if that is the case, this rack will probably not work for you if you don't want your pedals to hit the car on the highway. There is some movement during travel that may be cause for concern while travelling at 100 km an hour, and I recommend that users fix both bikes to the rack (with extra straps or cords not supplied in the box). I did this by straping the front wheel to the inside stem of the bike and one of the verticle bars of the rack itself. This allowed for significantly less movement on the highway, and in general, more peace of mind. Because I have read other reviewers claiming that the metal clips could damage the trunk hood, I wrapped some tape around the hooks that attach to the trunk to minimize possible damage. I can report that the hood was not damaged.
