I take this when I am having severe headache or heavy fever(that not going away from other medication or if I have things to do which can't wait) and I am not disappointed yet. It works fast and efficiently.

I can suffer from absolutely debilitating migraines...I don't want to talk to anyone, I have to craddle my head, my head feels like it's been hit by a truck, I get nauseous- literally every symptom of the worst possible migraine...Advil liquid gel extra strength is literally the only thing that will get rid of my migraines. I've tried so many other medicines, but I know when I take one of these...it will work within 30-40 minutes and my headache is half of what it was. I usually only ever need to repeat a dose once and my migraine is GONE. But I must say- this pills SUCK to swallow. Maybe it’s just me but they do not go down smooth at all- and if I don’t take a good chug of water with it- I almost feel like it’s stuck in my throat. I will be so devastated if Advil stops making these as nothing else compares. If you suffer from migraines and have come this far...just order them you will be so thankful you tried them.

This pack of 24 Advil Extra Strength Liqui-Gels (24 Count) 400 mg ibuprofen Tablets stays in our medicine cabinet. In most cases we found that me and my wife need extra strength(400 mg) for most pains and migrane. This pack is economical and Amazon price was great compared to local drug store. Tablets are fast disssolve liquid-gels for faster relief and easy-to-swallow compared to their compact powder counterpart.

ADVIL OR TYLENOL?

Everybody’s medicine cabinet is now a days filled with different over-the-counter pain relievers, among them most common are Tylenol and Advil. Although, most people seem to use them interchangeably, all over-the-counter pain relievers do not work interchangeably; apparently they work differently in your body, and they can have different side effects. Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is a pain reliever and fever reducer while Advil (Ibuprofen) is a non-steroid, anti-inflammatory medicine. In other words, it works on reducing inflammation and pain in the body, and it can also be used as a fever reducer.

For example, if you have got a headache, common cold or fever, Tylenol, whose active ingredient is Acetaminophen, might be your best choice since it comes with fewer side effects. Acetaminophen relieves pain in mild arthritis but has no effect on the underlying inflammation, redness, and swelling of the joint. If the pain is not due to inflammation, acetaminophen is as effective as aspirin.

On the other hand, if you have something like Inflamed elbow, pulled/strained muscle, sore throat pain or any pain due to inflammation, Advil, whose active ingredient is ibuprofen, is likely to bring greater relief. My wife often have migraine pains and she finds that Advil works better compared to Tylenol for migraine pains.

And if you're trying to bring down a fever, either medication will probably work.

Both medicines have maximum daily dosage restrictions and sometimes doctors in cases of severe pain situations like surgery, recommend taking both alternatively for maximum relief without much side effects. For example doctors may advise to take Tylenol every 4-6 hours and Advil every 6-8 hours at slightly staggered Intervals.

Although both medications are considered to be safe, there can be side effects associated with prolonged use or excessive dosage. For example acetaminophen is broken down and removed by the liver and hence excessive dosage may cause lever damage. Ibuprofen, on the other hand, is removed from your body by your kidneys. Taking it for a long time can cause kidney damage and stomach bleeding.

I love advil for menstrual cramps but they definitely dont last longer than 4 hours with my menstrual cramps. So I end up taking them around 4 times a day 4 hours apart. I wish they worked for 6 to 8 hours. Cause i worry im taking to much bit I CANT DEAL with the pain.
