The author divides these endangered animals into three groups: 1) Critically Endangered, 2) Endangered and 3) Vulnerable. Some animals will be familiar to young readers like the polar bear, and the giant panda bear. Others are more obscure like the bonobo and the Bornean pygmy elephant.
Miller provides a brief summary of each of these animals, its characteristics and habitat, and why it is in decline. Then he supplies internet links for additional information and a small photo. I do wish that the photos were larger. Some statistics are included; I did not check the accuracy of the numbers.
I believe this book to be a good starting point for more in-depth research or a science project. While the text is done in a cut and paste approach, it is more of a reference tool than a story and should be viewed in that context. Recommended for students ages eight and older.

We found this book pretty interesting. The book consists of photos (from public domain) of endangered animals and a couple of paragraphs about each animal. It covers 33 different animals. The text is not aimed at small children, the book is based on Wikipedia text so the content requires Wiki comprehension level.

This book about endangered animals is similar to "amazing facts" series written by different authors that follow the same formula: stock photos and description from Wikipedia about the given topic. This book has longer descriptions compared to the other "amazing facts" books. The style of the book is not original, but information is interesting. I liked the larger amount of text as it was more educational.

Great pictures! This has been a great book to use to teach my daughter about our earth, the resources we have available to us, and how humans have wasted some of those resources like these animals that are now endangered. The pictures are beautiful and each animal has some information about it that you can share with your children. Something else that is really cool about this book is that there is a hyperlink for the animals so that you can search out more information about each animal on line if that will be important to you and your family. While our family loves to hold paper and cover books in our hands, this is a fantastic feature of an ebook that just isn't available in a paper book. We definitely liked this book.
