Nice Bike Rack but might need a drill

Have been used this bike rack for two days. Like it!
It's easy to assemble and easy to install. Solid and sturdy.
Two things are not ideal and have been mentioned by other buyers. One is that the hole is not big enough to get the pin through. Lucky that my neighbor has big enough drill bit and helped me to drill the hole bigger. The other is that it's very challenging to hold 4 bikes at the same time.

The rack is pretty easy to install. Even though it says not to be mounted on a trailer, I have it on the back of my 5th wheel with a specially constructed receiver. The rack, even with a hitch extender, does not wobble one bit which is good.

I just completed a 4 hour trip, one-way with 4 bikes on it. My full suspension mountain bike, my wife’s light street bike, my 15-year olds hard tail mountain bike and my 11 year olds smaller mountain bike. The trip was 99% on pavement and I don’t remember hitting any major bumps.

Upon arrival, the bikes had a fair bit of rub damage which is to be expected, but maybe to not this extent. The problem is to get 4 bikes or rack you really have to be a little bit of a magician and they are crammed tight, so any movement is going to give you rub damage. When I got the bikes off, one of the arms was bent down. I straightened it for the return home, and after we got home the bends were worse (see pictures).

The reviews seem pretty good for using this bike for 2 or even 3 bikes, but that’s not what I bought it for, so only one star. I don’t see any way you’re going to use this for 4 bikes unless they are for 4 kids bikes and you don’t care about damage. I’d buy this to hauls 2 bikes as with the extra space I could avoid the rub damage, but it’s not taking any more than that.

Bend after only 2-3 use

One arm started to bend after only 2-3 trips in less than 2 months! Even didn’t load full of 4 bikes! Don’t have confidence in the studyness of material. Unfortunately return window is closed and we had to deal with customer service with the worst experience. When I contacted Allen’s customer service, they simply tried to throw all excuses back to customer’s misuse. First said we didn’t load the bikes in correct way, not in alternate direction and heaviest not closest to the vehicle. When I pointed out I did do the right way, heavy bike clearly shown in the picture closest to the vehicle, 1 heavy bike facing one way and 2 lighter bikes facing the other way. They then said they can send a new rack but I have to pay the shipping with $67USD! Why should customer bear the shipping to fix a problem product?! Totally waste of money and time.

Scratched up my NEW $1200& My wife’s bike 🤬🤬🤬

So at 1st i like this bike rack but thought it needed more room between bikes as they are tight together, but after 4 uses we noticed that both my bike and my wife’s bike are getting scratched up pretty bad by the hinge for the rack itself and now my new $1200 bike is scratched to crap and so is her $800 bike. Im giving this 1 start only cause i can’t leave a zero star rating

The media could not be loaded.

The pin cannot go thru the holes to lock the rack. Every time I have to use the hammer to punch it in and out. I can’t feel any “easy” to use here.

I bought it for summer time. The first time I use was already passed the return date. I can’t even refund or exchange the item now.

After a handful times of use, the cable to the pin that controls the leaning function snapped. We leaned it a couple of times to put groceries in the trunk. Now I have a feeling I will lose the pin and won't be able to use this rack.

Easy to assemble with proper tools. Make sure you tighten all the screws so it doesn't rattle. The straps are horrible and takes too long to strap or unstrap.

Used on the back of my trailer, first trip one arm bent down so far that my bikes were almost touching the ground. Terrible product, would give zero stars if I could. One use and I now have an expensive piece of scrap metal. I am happy that I put a safety strap around all the bikes so they at least didn't fall off on the road and kill someone.

First use with only 3 bikes and one side bent from the weight I guess? I bent it back and will try again, but assume I will be in contact regarding warranty soon. It is perfect in design, but worried about its strength for sure.
