Nice Bike Rack but might need a drill

Have been used this bike rack for two days. Like it!
It's easy to assemble and easy to install. Solid and sturdy.
Two things are not ideal and have been mentioned by other buyers. One is that the hole is not big enough to get the pin through. Lucky that my neighbor has big enough drill bit and helped me to drill the hole bigger. The other is that it's very challenging to hold 4 bikes at the same time.

The only missing in this product maybe they should provide were to put or to install the plate number of the car so that it will be visible at all time.

Carried 4 adult sized bikes for a 7-hour drive through the mountains (then 7 hours back home again a few days later). The rack installed nice and solid - no wiggle or wobble whatsoever. The straps held the bikes in place securely; no additional strapping required. You do have to be mindful of handlebars and pedals when placing each bike on the rack, adjusting as needed in order to puzzle the bikes together, but is not complicated and you can absolutely fit four full sized bikes on this rack no problem. I was worried after reading mixed reviews, but am glad I didn't waste my money on a more expensive rack. This was perfect.👍

For the price, it is the best out there. I had three bikes (two adult and one kid) mounted and drove four hours. I still had one strap left. So it is a bit tight but that is how you want to mount it to prevent wobbles, rattling noise etc. It will be tight for four bikes and I haven't tried that yet. Not a single shake or wobble. I just wish the straps were rubber though. I believe it costs an additional $30 for that Allen version but it wasn't available when I was looking for it. Overall would have knocked one star for the straps but it was rock solid. I also used zip ties for added grip.

I bought this for a 10-day trip during which I loaded and unloaded 4 bikes often, and travelled on different road conditions including highway, city, dirt roads, mountainous roads, etc. (all in all a 2000 km trip). When I bought this item a couple weeks ago, it was available as an Amazon Prime purchase and the price was nicely reduced to 133 CAD. I received the item 2 days after order placed. Installation was a breeze. The bike rack functioned perfectly well during the trip: mounting and unmounting bikes was always super easy; the bikes fit securely in the cradles; the rack does not wobble/rattle ***at all*** when charged; the part that tilts to store away when no bikes are charged does rattle a little bit (nothing too annoying), but there is certainly an easy and no-cost solution for that (just place a hard-rubber band at the place of contact of the two metallic parts); the rack tilts easily to allow access to the trunk on my VW Tiguan, even when charged with 4 bikes (but two people required IMO when doing that with a fully charged rack). All in all an amazing product for the price! Of course, I would have prefered an easier mechanism than the metallic pin to secure the moving pieces, which exists in higher priced models in the same make, but for the price I paid for this rack, I got all I can expect and more!

The rack is pretty easy to install. Even though it says not to be mounted on a trailer, I have it on the back of my 5th wheel with a specially constructed receiver. The rack, even with a hitch extender, does not wobble one bit which is good.

I just completed a 4 hour trip, one-way with 4 bikes on it. My full suspension mountain bike, my wife’s light street bike, my 15-year olds hard tail mountain bike and my 11 year olds smaller mountain bike. The trip was 99% on pavement and I don’t remember hitting any major bumps.

Upon arrival, the bikes had a fair bit of rub damage which is to be expected, but maybe to not this extent. The problem is to get 4 bikes or rack you really have to be a little bit of a magician and they are crammed tight, so any movement is going to give you rub damage. When I got the bikes off, one of the arms was bent down. I straightened it for the return home, and after we got home the bends were worse (see pictures).

The reviews seem pretty good for using this bike for 2 or even 3 bikes, but that’s not what I bought it for, so only one star. I don’t see any way you’re going to use this for 4 bikes unless they are for 4 kids bikes and you don’t care about damage. I’d buy this to hauls 2 bikes as with the extra space I could avoid the rub damage, but it’s not taking any more than that.
