To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I typically purchase my ink online because it is more economical than in store. This time was different because upon arrival, I opened the first ink cartridge and immediately got an error code and could not print. Knowing my Cannon printer VERY well (I’ve had it for several years), I ultimately decided to try opening the other pack of ink. Defeated, in went the other new ink cartridge in the 2 pack and immediately I was able to complete my print job. After trouble shooting the printer, I was able to determine the code was that I had a dud ink cartridge... which stinks cause now I’m out money and can’t return just (1) of a (2)-pack. Very disappointed for a grad student nearing graduation supporting a family of 5 who has never needed to be more “thrifty” than before.
Recently installed aftermarket ink from “Remandom” in a printer I’ve used for years. Lo and behold, the flashing fault indicators lit up like a Christmas tree and it wouldn’t print. So I tried to remove the ink cartridges and found they were made for one way installation with a tab that prevented their removal!! WTF!?! Yes, it’s true. I now couldn’t install another ink even if I wanted to. I unplugged the machine and proceeded to try and poke, prod, lever and wedge the offending inks out. Couldn’t do it. Don’t EVEN try to disassemble a printer. I promise it’ll never go back together (and function). So, thanks to “Remandon” I’ve been forced to replace my printer. AND give away the additional backup inks I had for it because it’s replacement uses different inks. Lesson is stick to OEM inks and learn to refill them. They may cost more but replacing your printer is costlier AND aggravating.
