For some reason, my old VGA cable wasn't functioning at all. I even tried a second cable. I assume the port of my monitor was faulty. Lucky for me, there was also DVI port available. I plugged in the dvi cable with this cable and attached the HDMI to my PC. It works perfectly. I also tried it with my 2nd laptop, and it worked as well. The only thing, which is not really a con, is the length of the cable. It's unnecessary long if you're only looking for an office monitor cable. I just rolled the cable and tucked it behind my monitor. Screen quality is great considering you will be using this cable with an older monitor. I would repurchase and recommend. Especially for the price. I would have paid much more locally. I recommend.
