Good overall, solid introduction to the software.

If you've never used Project 2016 before, or you've had previous mild exposure, this book will help you get up and running fairly quickly. It does a good job of approaching the proper use of Project, and how best to set up projects in different circumstances. There's enough meat here to get novices using the software quite well, but those with a good foundation already will not learn too much more.

The writing style is typical of the Dummies series, and it's readable. I bought this book for an employee who was learning project management, and the use of Project 2016, and she quickly got up to speed with the software, which is probably the best recommendation one can make for a book like this! While I'd like to have seen some deeper discussion in places, as well as showing alternative approaches to planning a project, there's more than enough here to satisfy most requirements for someone starting to use Project 2016.

Easy to look up specific bits of information. The book is all inclusive & well written. I knew MSP, but an older (2003) version. The upgrades to 2018 are terrific. Yes, this book is for 2016, but there were no inherent changes from 16 to 18. This book had better reviews, so I went with it & it serves its purpose very well.
I'd recommend it for a condensed, 'easy to figure out the program' guide. I will say, one must have some knowledge of MSP, or be very computer savy to understand & apply a lot of the terminology.

Project for dummies (newbies, first timers and ll of those who might think this book s for them).
It requires some knowledge of the software which it doesn't give. I gave up with the book quite quickly and just binge watched online youtube tutorials, did 'roleplay' like experiments of ideas not connected with the ones I wanted to so mistakes didn't matter . Even if you take into account the schmaltzy style of American tutors this is by far the best route to take save going on a course yourself.
