I Can't Stand this Mount
Reviewed in Canada on June 25, 2019
I originally didn't mind this mount because it was so cheap but I can't stand it anymore, I hate this mount, I hate it. The nut that you're supposed to tighten to keep your TV from flopping around does NOTHING. I have one of the worlds lightest 32" HDTV's (RCA Scenium) and this mount will not hold it upright. The only thing that makes it possible for me to even use this thing is that it's mounted high enough on the ceiling so even though the TV flops forward I watch TV while laying in bed so I would need to angle it downwards anyways, so whatever, but the problem is that I actually had to go out and get the thinnest lightest HDMI cable I could find because any other HDMI cable would add too much weight and the TV wouldn't just swing to one side, it's top heavy, so it would completely rotate upside down. And if I wasn't ready to catch it every time that happened it would hank the HDMI cable out of whatever it was plugged into. I thought for sure there was something I could do to stop this from happening, maybe I didn't try hard enough the last time I tried to fix this so I just use two wrenches and came on to this thing as hard as I could to tighten it, if I push it any harder the bolt is gonna strip, I'm surprised I didn't pop a blood vessel I was straining so hard but it's like I did nothing, the TV will still swing around and end up completely upside down if the slightest breeze hits it.
This is a waste of money, I should have known because it's so cheap but the reviews are good. I don't know if I ended up getting a broken or defective unit or what but as it is now this thing is garbage and if I could go back I would gladly spend $100 on something that actually works.
