A bit of a let down.

This was the movie that everybody wanted to see but afterwards people felt it didn't quite live up to the hype. It made money so there will be a sequel but I just hope they do a better job of it this time around.
When it comes to superhero movies, Marvel is the current champion and DC is trying desperately to catch up. And nowhere was it more apparent than in "Suicide Squad". The hype surrounding this movie was intense. Will Smith managed to play a character that is traditionally white and very few people complained about it. Margot Robbie is ridiculously hot as the crazy Harley Quinn and the rest of the cast... is there. It's not to say they're not important but Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn are the only two of them that feel fully fleshed out and aren't just two-dimensional characters with one defining feature or trait.
And then there's the elephant in the room, namely Jared Leto's Joker. This character seems to be very polarizing. Some say he's great. Others think he's the worst one yet. Time will tell as to whether or not he's going to succeed or not.
There's some good fight scenes. There's some interesting banter that goes on and while it's not the worst superhero movie I've ever seen, it's nowhere near the best.
DC managed to have one runaway success with Wonder Woman. Let's hope that Justice League is just as good or better because otherwise they might as well give up now.
