Do not buy this if you live anywhere there is a winter or salt spray/ application to roads.

Complete waste of money. The design of this allows moisture to get in and the key will not turn.

Fix? Use a bar and apply pressure. Simply popped off.

Second review;

Attention criminals and thieves; A very easy lock to snap open. Metal will be more brittle in the winter.

Not with the item. When I initially put it on I had thought it would be secure. After a few days my dog walked by it he bumped it and it fell off. So afterwards I looked at closer sure enough you can bumped it off.
I don’t recommend I’d look for a better system and not waste your money.

Used one of these on our travel travel. From dirt, grime or whatever the key would no longer work. Two whacks with a standard hammer and the lock broke into pieces and fell off the receiver. Would not rely solely on this lock for more than a visual deterrent.

I bought this to replace a nearly identical lock after losing the keys to it. This newer version is extremely flimsy. It could easily be broken with a firm hit with a 4lb mallet. It's not solid like the previous one. The metal is very thin. The previous one weight maybe 3lbs, this might be a pound. I'm still going to use it since I believe having it on the trailer will deter theft and it looks much more sturdy than it actually is. But if thieves knew these were garbage, we'd all be in trouble.

I'm convinced that this thing could be quickly broken off with a couple whacks from a hammer. It's cast zinc and feels cheap. Zinc is what Matchbox cars are made from; cheap, soft, brittle, weak. I know it can be easily picked after watching the Lockpickinglawyer on you tube get into it in a few seconds. It's primarily a deterrent to lazy thieves who will maybe go and steal someone else's stuff that has no lock. However, a determined thief is going to quickly defeat any lock under $200, or simply bypass it altogether. That said, it's still slightly better than nothing and most similarly priced alternatives are little better. It will keep an honest man honest, but that's about it.
