To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The latch holds the door closed and the electronic lock works fine, but the door ajar switch failed after a couple months. I bet when I tear this one apart I'll find the same brand switch in it as the last one that failed. They should have spent an extra dollar on a better microswitch if they're going to charge double the cost of a cheap door latch. I'm getting sick of changing this door latch.
You get 2 stars only because it has a good build quality and fitment and would otherwise be a great replacement part. Build your parts to be serviced. People like me would change the switch and leave a 5 star review based on how easy it was to fix the switch instead of change the whole door latch.
I replaced the driver side rear door lock actuator with this one, after installing it I kept getting a light on the instrument panel telling the door was still opened, after reading a few comments from people who bought this before I went back and loosened the bolts that attach it to the door, the I started tightening one by one and found the upper right bolt created the problem if it was too tight, I tightened the other two and left that one not so tight, I kept on adjusting it until the light turned off and didn’t come back, it’s been about a month now and it has worked fine so far.
Just like other reviews that I now read. My husband finally got to put it in and my door ajar light would not go off therefore all interior lights stayed on. Ended up taking it into Ford to get replaced. Thought I'd save money but ended up spending extra $70 because it was bad! Wouldn't give any stars but unfortunately you have to give atleast one!
