To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I found this textbook easy to read and attuned to the problems with psychological assessment. Authors encourage a contextual and comprehensive assessment process that seems to put the person first. It is not very inclusive of solution-focused models for assessment where strengths rather than problems are assessed so it is somewhat traditional in that sense. Still a good read for psychology/counselling students.
I’m in a master program and was assigned this book for my assessments class. It has easily been the most useful textbook I've read throughout all of my classes and it will be staying on my bookshelf for easy reference even after this class is over. The important things are laid out easily in an understandable and uncomplicated way. As a student who constantly has to read so much, I am grateful to come across a good book like this.
This was a very helpful text to me when I started my masters program in counseling (psychology). It tackles the complex nature of assessment in a straightforward manner that makes it easier to understand than a lot of other texts out there. Definitely recommended.
Easy to understand, chapter summaries are helpful. However it doesn't have an answer key for the review questions, which is a bust because some of them are trick questions and can have more than one answer.
