I continue to be in love with the villains in this series. Sometimes you wish that they would win, and I'm some of them they just might. If you like Cthulu inspired literature you should like this one. Tom out
Exquisitely written addition to the Reemergence series, though stands tall as a stand alone piece. Philbrook is a master at creating worlds and filling them with believable characters, and motives that are more than plot devices, but most of all - writes one heck of a story. He creates creatures that are both familiar and new, twists norms by making monsters the good guys.
I often wonder if Philbrook is to the genre, what Tesser is to this universe.
I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this series but as soon as I started the first book I was hooked. This is the third book, and I'm still as impressed as I was with the others. We've got dragons and wizards and monsters and oh my! The story keeps growing, and so do the characters. If you enjoyed the first and second books you need to read this one. Yeah it's that simple.
I just didn't enjoy this book like the first 2. Miss dragon of the oceans wasn't likeable to. I enjoy death and life better. She was dry. And took that one deal which makes her a loser so I like her even less. Abe was not very cool either so I just felt so blah reading this. Sigh. I've been in a book dislike slump lately. Chris has wrote many great books I've read so I doubt it's the book. Probably just me.
The third book in the reemergence series continues to build the story of the last two, and its a very engrossing story. This series is excellent, and I highly recommend it, along with Chris’s other works, especially Adrian’s Undead Diary.
Really enjoyed this latest foray into philbrooks world of dragons and magic in our modern world. With a great blend of perspective from both villains and the heroes the world comes to life. It also seems to set up for future stories in this series so I am looking forward to what happens next.
