I used this to restore a broken antique glass door knob. It had two issues: (1) it had come unglued from the metal housing that screws onto the stem that makes it function as a door knob, and (2) in coming unglued a small slice had sheared off from the glass lip that fits into the housing. I used this glue to restore the itty bitty slice first. Despite being unable to clamp the two parts I got a good bond by leaving it undisturbed for a full day. Then, after carefully marking where the two parts best aligned, I glued the knob back into the housing. Again, I had no way to clamp the two parts, so I set the whole thing carefully with the weight of the knob bearing down on the housing in a small plastic tray and then balanced two 1 lb bags of beans on the knob with the ends of the bags just resting on the edges of the plastic tray to stabilize them. Next day, excellent bond! Also, absolutely invisible, clear. I'm delighted.
I used this on ceramics first, then on metal. You moisten the non porous first and then glue the pieces. Works perfect and the glue is crystal clear. Later I used instead of wood glue. No moistening needed on wood. Two hours later I removed the strap I used to clamp the chair frame. Works perfect. Since the glue is clear there is nothing unseemly to see if any glue is visible in the joints. I used a Q tip to apply the glue from open bottle instead of using the cut plastic applicator because my glues always seem to age and then get hard when the top is cut (no matter how good a seal would seem to be.) So this is a home run! Clear and useful for nearly everything. Next I will try it on a granite counter top to fill chips and cracks. I like this stuff. Getting really clear glue or epoxy that stays clear is a real problem. This may be the answer!
