How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donโ€™t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book but was used

The book itself is fantastic, however, when I flipped through it there was a used bookmark and a folded page inside. Just seemed weird to buy something โ€œnewโ€ but had signs of already being used.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Information, Resources and Examples for Instructional Coaches
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on January 30, 2018
This book is intended as a guide for Instructional Coaches โ€“ coaches who primarily work with teacher to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching.

I am not involved in Instructional Coaching or classroom teaching. I am keenly interested in coaching and think it can be helpful to exploring coaching activities outside my main area of focus.

The ideas in the book are presented in a logical, straightforward approach. There are plenty of actual, real world examples used to illustrate the concepts being presented.

It is a truth that we cannot be an unbiased observer of our own performance. No matter what activity we are engaged in, we need an experienced, impartial observer capable of providing feedback that will allow us to improve.

The book will be most helpful to those specifically engaged in Instructional Coaching. There is a lot of good advice which a teacher, administrator or mentor can benefit from.

Easy to read, lots of diagrams, check lists and actual case studies. There are also numerous QR codes that provide additional resources in the form of videos. There is an Instructional Coaches Tool Kit at the back of the book.

Lot of good information and resources.

4.0 out of 5 stars this book is a great resource.
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on April 10, 2018
Jim Knight is the most knowledgeable person on educational coaching out there. As an academic coach in an elementary school, I have read and used his practices and books for the past 8 years. While some of the content in this book is repetitive of his Instructional Coaching book and other books he has written, I found the presentation of the material in this book very helpful and informative to my practice as a coach. If you are looking for ways to come along side the teachers you work with to improve instruction, this book is a great resource.
