Distinct and flavourful

I really live this seasoning. It is unique in flavour, but is very delightful. The quality seems to be very good. I've pre-seasoned several bags of chicken, since they give you quite a lot for an extremely reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this seasoning and I'm going to try more products.

Bad surprise!

The best surprise is no surprise. I have used Indian spice mixes for over 20 years and this is the first one that is not only disappointing, it is plain bad. The cumin is overpowering and the after taste is bitter. This is nothing compared to the most humble of Masala paid 1/4 of the price for the same amount. Buy at your own risk.

Better than supermarket offerings, but I think the flavour of cinnamon is overpowering the other flavours. I guess it is cheaper cassia and not true cinnamon by the sweet smell.

Since this is such a blend, I have not found any general use for Rani Garam Masala. It was fine for the recipe that I tried (one & done), but it's flavor didn't jump out to me for other logical dishes I try. I do use another curry that I recently bought that I like, but I didn't feel Rani Garam Masala would work in some of the middle eastern dishes I play with. I will eventually try something else, but my local Indian restaurants (north & south) are consistently soo much better than anything of that I can prepare myself, I just default to ordering takeout.

Good Quality but Broken Top

The product itself is worthy of four stars. It has good flavor and aroma, though not nearly as intense as a freshly prepared product. I have removed a star because the screw-on top of the jar came broken. While this may have happened during shipment, a sturdier top might have withstood the rigors of travel. As it is, the plastic used to form the top was of poor quality, making this sort of damage more likely than should be reasonably expected. As the screw portion of the top was intact, I was able to seal it by first covering it with aluminum foil.

Seal was damaged. Holes in shaker filled with paper from seal. Suspicious box designed specifically with Amazon marketing. So is the bottle label. At least seal was not broken, and expiration date of 2024. Smells nice -mostly cinnamon and clove smell - but I know nothing of Indian spices.

I received this with the seal open and the spices leaked out into the box. I tried to replace it but got the message that it is not returnable. This was not stated on the order page or I would not have ordered it. The spice smells wonderful. I had a use for it right away but cannot take a chance on using this product due to the open seal. I cannot give an accurate review since I can't try it. Three stars because the spices smell really good, through the open seal.

The box it came in was fine and was closed with a piece of tape but the spice container itself was opened. I almost wasnt going to use it but.... was like meh. it tastes good just sad that it had been opened and probably wont retain its freshness as long.

I got this to make butter chicken and I couldn’t find garam masala in my grocery store so I bit the bullet and bought this as it was on the top of Amazon’s list. I kind of regret it because it’s expensive and the first ingredient is cumin which I already have and cumin is pretty cheap too. I tasted this compared to cumin and this was just spiced up cumin. Well I guess that’s common sense when u see the ingredient list😂Garam masala is supposed to be a warm spice so i guess i did get that, maybe my expectations were too high so that’s my fault🤷‍♀️

I love the blend. I've been using it extensively mostly in crock pot dishes. My wife however does not liken the blend. She dislikes the overpowering cinnamon as other reviewers have commented on. I love it. My wife however is not a big indian food fanatic to start with. Anyway. I will continue to make my own meals with it because my wife doesn't eat anything I make in the crock pot besides pot roast anyway. But the cinnamon Is most easily identified in the aroma and taste.

I had to do some research to figure out how to neutralize the very heavy clove taste of this stuff.

By adding quite a bit of garlic and ginger at cook time I managed it, but this stuff isn't quite balanced right.
