Alex is dismayed that his best friend, Luke, is moving. The summer becomes a boring nightmare. When Alex wakes up late for the first day of school, he is certain it is an evil omen.
This book contains well-defined characters that will appeal to the middle-grade reader. So many familiar struggles. There are bullying, school and family relationship struggles, trust, and acceptance issues.
This book is a quick read, under one hundred pages, and a good choice for reluctant readers. I would recommend it for the eight through twelve age group.
Hey @Maureen, you were awesome. This was a great read. One more very important thing -- Your book would have been not that successful if you had kept it for a cost.... Good decision to keep it for free.... Thumbs up.
Readers those who are taking time to read my review, thanks. It is recommended to all those kids who like #familyandfriends story. ;) Recommended to all those who like stories in which people have reunions and new friendships.... I m not saying girsls should not read this it is a fairly equal read for all but I believe just believe just my point of view that percentage of fun will be like this
girls - 110% Boys - 112 % like thT cause there is a bit mention of aliens monsters etc just a bit ofabout a page but everyone should read it .....
I loved the book- and I loved the way they showed growth in the protagonist. No spoilers, but the author showed that even the worst-seeming people have weaknesses, and that even if they seem bad, they always have a good side. If you think about it, the book had some pretty obvious themes- good ones too. Highly recommended. I read it in about 30 minutes, though I'm a quick reader, so for others (with interruptions) it might take 45-60 minutes.
This is a fun book. When you think you've read all the, I'm going to a new school, book sagas, you haven't read this one. The cover is a teaser for what is inside. The new kid is nothing he suspected. He is also nothing we are used to either. He is no normal kid. He has some great character traits. The bully is not a normal bully. Alex and his brother Dylan are buds. Eek!! Did I tell you to much? I must stop talking now. I know you will enjoy reading or listening this book, The New Kid. I highly recommend this wonderfully written book. Happy Reading!!
This is a story about a bully and how the bully was handled. It’s a great book for preteens to read. Lots of things happen during sixth grade that Alex is faced with. The book deals with how he handles them. This book opens up lots of discussions about kids and how they handle the things they go through during the middle school years, and not all of them are about bullying. There are some grammar errors throughout the book, but nothing that affects the story line.
Great book for kids to read and talk about. Congratulations!
