Lock difficult to engage

The unit feels heavy duty but the lock seems flimsy. Sent the fist one back after a few days when the lock jammed open. The unit would be five star with a better lock. The second lock also feels flimsy.

When I got there the bottom was gone and the top was still there. I have another brand lock that I leave on my travel trailer when we are traveling with no issues.

Solid lock garbage key tubler

Easy to use easy to install and it is a solid lock, however; after 6 months started having issues with the key lock/tumblers and I maintain all of my locks . The other day, almost to the year I purchased it, the key Tumblr stopped working and the key broke off inside. Had to cut off the lock. Will be contacting Reese

Overall the product is very well made as for strength. On the other hand I have snapped off the key as of this morning. And I’ve noticed the lock gets harder and harder to open the longer I’ve had it. I bought this in December of 2021 and it’s not March 28th, so in 3 months the lock has already worn out. I wouldn’t buy this again. You’d think they’d give you a key you couldn’t twist off by hand but I guess not. Will not be buying again.

The initial installation of the Coupler Lock was easy, not a single issue. Left the lock on for just over a week. I then attempted to remove it, that was a nightmare. The key would turn but the lock would not release. After multiple attempts I finally released it. When trying to reinstall, for the second time, the lock would turn but the locking mechanism would not allow the horseshoe lock to be inserted. I gently tapped it with a hammer to attempt to release it, but to no avail. I soaked it WD40 over night and still no release.

Would NOT suggest purchasing this lock. It clearly is not made with reliability in mind.
