This is the first book in a fantasy series for young adults. Triplets Morganne Amara, and Fae despair because their mother appears to be nearing death. They live in a secluded cottage at the edge of Mystic Wood.
Desperate to find a cure for their mother’s mysterious illness, the sisters venture into the woods in search of a cure. Little do they realize their problems are just beginning. Something or someone appears to be following them.
Once captured, the girls are deemed to be witches. How will they be able to save their mother? Will they succeed in escaping or are they doomed to the pyre?
I was impressed with the writing. The author succeeds in creating a mood and getting the atmosphere right. For a book that is fewer than one hundred pages, the characters are remarkably well-developed. This is a clean read and would be appropriate for advanced middle-grade readers as well as teens and adults.
I'm so happy I stumbled on this novella because Angharad and I have two of the same loves: horses and magic! When I saw Witch Hearts' beautiful cover, I was immediately intrigued, but then I read the synopsis and downloaded it right away. Captured sisters must discover their magic before witch hunters burn them at stake? And their escape lies within the horses that pull the cart leading them to the witch trial? Yep. Sign me up for this story.
Angharad's novella reminded me of the Grimms' fairytales - a dark premise with evil lurking in the shadows and villains that are creepy and cringe-worthy. This is not a light and fluffy story, but the dark beginning makes the ending that much sweeter. I loved the three sisters (triplets) and watching them discover their magic and then fight the bad guys. The last half of the story is full of action and Angharad's writing is vivid and flowery. It was easy to picture the fight scenes and to see the magic as the sisters discovered it. Not to mention, the type of magic in Witch Hearts is horse-related. My favorite kind!
This was a quick read and was full of beautiful descriptions. And, there's two more novellas in the series. Perfect for fans of Grimms' fairytales or Once Upon A Time.
I loved this story! I felt like I was right there with the three sisters as they experienced the magical moments, the intense moments, and the gentle moments together. I enjoyed the way it was written like a fairytale but also that it is an original story. And, although it is less than 100 pages and the first in a series, the storyline does come full circle. No cliffhanger! Instead, small hints at a possible mystery about a secondary character have me intrigued and the epilogue teases with what is to come next for thoe sisters. I am eagerly anticipating the second book in the series!
An enjoyable short story about 3 sisters and their endeavors to save their mother from dying. While searching the forest for a cure, they are captured by witch hunters. The sisters then join forces with the 3 horses pulling the cart they are confined in. Together, they all begin a journey of self-discovery that will change all their lives.
With a well written storyline and characters that seem real, this is a good start to an intriguing series. I've already pre-ordered the next book.
Witch Heart is a cute short story that kept my interest tell the end. I have to admit that I was sad when I reached the end of the last chapter. The story is very well written with lots of emotion. It was like I was right there, when the three sister where fought by witch hunters. I felt hit each of the sisters as they found their magic, tho one sister had not yet. Each of the girls was bound to one of the three hoses. Adorable story, I’m excited to read more of the series.
This is a quick fantasy read about three sister witches and their horses. It's written beautifully and engaging for a novella. I loved how one can learn a couple of lessons from reading this -one about people and hatred. People need to read it to be reminded of things.
I liked this story read it in one short setting kept my attention it is not what I normally read would highly recommend for its targeted audience kinda light reading for one on the short side of 70 retired who normally reads hard science fiction or space opera love kindle unlimited, Amazon prime, good reads challenge. Off to get the next one!
This book was a fun and fast read. It is very short, and seems to be the start to a longer story. It's filled with both fantasy and realism. The characters were well-conceived and the story was predictable, but well-crafted.
