When I got this book I was really excited about the witchy mystery behind the gray. Sadly, i was immensely disappointed by the wasted potential. the story and the characters could have been so great if only the author had taken a little more time to work them out and put a few more pages in to explain their inner workings and backstories. In my opinion it is simply lazy to make everyone bisexual just so you don't have to come up with a backstory of why two characters have a complicated relationship to one another. as a bisexual myself i feel like the sexuality of the characters was used as plot devices and that doesn't feel good as a member of the lgbtq+ community. I also feel like this was done with the handicap of one of the characters, but since I am not disabled, I don't feel like I should speak on that. also: some of the characters were just....the same in some way. there were no details or character traits to distinguish them from one another because we rarely dive into the thoughts and feelings of the characters. anyways, now i'm hooked on the story line though and i will purchase the second book to know how it ends, but i'd really wish that the author had taken more care of their story line.
