I don’t know if I’ve ever given a short story 5 stars before, but this one deserves it! The Siren’s Curse is beautifully written with rich descriptions and poetic language. It’s definitely worth the read!

This was such a beautifully written short story that does an excellent job of captivating you from start to finish.

The perfect length to enjoy with a mid afternoon cup of tea.

Yes, haunting and chilling. Yes, unique, as so many fairy tale lovers envision a mermaid as a beautiful creature of the deep, but this novella brings about the darker side. I enjoyed this read-in-one-sitting novella, but not enough to be a favorite book of the year. Will I read more of Angharad's novels? Definitely!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read!

Highly impressed with this 14 page story! The poetic writing flowed beautifully and the imagery was great! I would definitely agree this was haunting and chilling. I was fully invested by the first page. This isn't centered around the characters and I don't think the author intended for it to be. Highly recommend if you're looking for a short, easy, dark fantasy to disappear into for a few minutes.

I have to say this short story quite surprised me. Very thought-provoking, a little haunting and very entrancing! I really loved the end. I would read more stories similar to this and would recommend this to anyone wanting a quick bite- sized read.

Benedict describes sirens of my nightmares...of all our nightmares. Pray you don't go into the deep. I hope you know how to swim. But even that's not a guarantee.

Angharad's writing is hauntingly sumptuous. This is how you tell a story. Brava.

Very descriptive, haunting and engaging short story. My eyes are virtually burning, the taste of salty sea water lingers on my tongue. Definitely not a Disney mermaid tale. Good, quuck read

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable quick read

I took a detour from my standard fare to read this short. I've read "haunting and chilling" before, and found The Siren's Curse to be a fresh surprise. Combining old tales of the sea with a story that could've been modern or anytime in the past hundred and fifty years, this tale left me thinking and wondering.

This short story really missed the mark on what could've been a pretty interesting premise. One dimensional characters, no real plot and a really stupid ending. This one is a big pass. I'm glad it was free and only took me 10 min to read. I would've been upset if I wasted more time than that.
