I have seldom come across a pair of headphones these days that can actually last one lousy year let alone 2yrs. So I thought I would try out the warranty stuff and see how easy it is to claim and what happens when and if I do? Check back a year and a half from now .lol

Unfortunately, I purchased a pair of Skullcandy headphones which did not work along with Asurion warranty. Since the headphones did not work properly, Asurion was contacted to apply the warranty.

The headphones had to be returned to the manufacturer directly rather than to Amazon since the 2-year warranty purchased from Asurion along with the headphones does not kick until a year later.

Unfortunately, shipping the headphones to the manufacturer cost an additional $25 dollars. I've been yet waiting to received the replacement headphones from Skullcandy.

It seems that purchasing an extended warranty from Asurion may not be worth it since it cannot be used during the first year. It may, however, be a good alternative since it is protected for two additional years, after year 1, as long as the headphones do not need to be replaced during the first year.

Since I had to replace the product in year 1, for the price of the headphones plus the cost of the 2-year Asurion extended warranty plan, it is not worth it to buy the warranty. In addition to the cost of the headphones and the warranty, you have to pay for the shipping to send it to the manufacture for the first year. You will need to add to the initial costs (headphones and warranty) an extra $25 plus dollar to ship the product to Skullcandy for a replacement.

I buy lots of things on Amazon. Something I purchased offered me the warranty so I bought it figuring that they system would pair the insurance policy or warranty or whatever it is -- with the product I purchased it for so that I'd know what the warranty was for. THEY DON'T TELL YOU.

It's clear they do not want to honor it or they'd have a way of registering your protection against your product in the Amazon system so that you can look it up there. That's the whole benefit of using Amazon is that your entire history is there -- or so I thought. This is clearly a way to make sure there's no proof what the insurance applies to so that if you don't know what it's for you're screwed.

In fact even if you did know what it was for how would you prove it? I see no way to do so and will therefore not be sucked into this again. Fortunately I chose to experiment with a low cost item the first time around. Took me almost a year to discover this problem.

So yes I bought the warranty but it's useless to me as I don't know what product is insured/warranted or whatever their product is.

purchased motorola bluetooth earbuds in january 2021, started charging issues in august 2021, stopped connecting to my device. realized i had purchased this prototection plan.
protection plan company told me to contact manufacturer, number didn't work. finally motorola put me in touch with a website to apply for a case number. i applied end nov 2021 (when i wrote this). awaiting email now. If manufacturer doesn't help, i am to go back to protection company with the case number... and they, may help. protection plan, although for two years, said the first year belongs to manufacturer and that they only cover surges.... well, i don't know if it was a surge or not... i just know the right side doesn't connect... or anything doesn't. did i waste my money with them... stay tuned.

This product came up along with the product I purchased (head phones). One side quit working yesterday and I just got them in February. The insurance only comes into play after the manufactures warranty runs out. I just spoke with Marley and it turns out they are warranted for 2 years. What a great deal for Asurion!!
I'd like to ask Amazon why they would prompt me to purchase this useless plan when the coverage was already provided by the manufacturer.
During my call to Asurion, I answered questions for 5 minutes only to be sent on to the manufacturer. Its not a great deal of money, but it STINKS. "I would not recommend this insurance coverage to anyone" I would ask Amazon to look into this issue.

This product sent by email was not why it was bought. In buying this 2 year protection plan was for a headset. The email sent was for Freedom mobile protection. We in our house hold don't have Freedom mobile. So this is useless to me. I would appreciate that I get back the money spent on this. Otherwise it's like throwing my money in the trash. Or down the you know what, I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to be wasting my money.

The email from Asurion with the plan details never came. When I contacted the seller to let them know, I received a reply in which they besically told me that the standard procedure is an email delivery 24 for hours after the purchase and to go look again.
This is not a service I was hoping to get. If a simple information exchange made me feel like I am supposed to work hard to get the service I paid for, I'd rather not have that service at all.
