To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

1.0 out of 5 starsDangerous!
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on November 5, 2022
While there is undoubtedly some useful information in the book, that information is more than outweighed by the conceptual errors and omissions by the author. Overall, it is a dangerous book, because it comes to its financial conclusions erroneously and may cost you money as a result. No doubt, business ownership is a proven path to building wealth, but it’s nowhere as rosy as this book lays out. Just ask yourself this question; If a business could pay for itself as quickly as the author assumes in the book, why wouldn’t the seller get his money out that way instead of giving you the opportunity on a silver platter? We would have to assume that the sellers are entirely witless or in dire straits, both of which can happen, but they are not the norm.

One of the best M&A books out there from a buyers perspective. Worth the cover price especially the later chapters where he comments on post sale integration. Good learning material for search funders and private equity types.

Simple overview of accounting analysis does a great job of interesting people unfamiliar with the subject and puts a new and very practical spin on small business entrepreneurship for experienced financiers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely some ideas that make it worth the time to read
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on November 15, 2018
This idea is so much better than doing a regular start-up. I've bought businesses in the past and then looked to grow them by apply Scaling Up or EXO principles but this is a nice simple introduction that gave me some new ideas. Worth the time to read.
