battery only last 2 days if you set it to update location every 10 minutes. I had mine update every ten minutes because it would be useless if you just update it every day, what if someone steal your car and find where you hide your gps, they can get rid of your gps before it can update location of the thief whereas if you have it update every few minutes, you will have better advantage because the system can keep a record of car location through history, this will help if someone removes your gps from the car or disables it. They should have made larger units with larger battery that will last longer, then I may start to like this product. ideally GPS unit should last a year without charging because who got time to charge the unit every two days, what if you forget to charge it, this defeats the purpose of investing in such unit. sometimes reception is not good. I would park my car and wait all day and still not receive a single update. when I try to update location through the app, it wouldn't update and I get message saying that there is no GPS signal. I should have no problem to receive update every ten minutes if this was a good unit. ideally a good gps unit should have good gps reception and should come with external antenna to boost the signal, this unit doesn't work often times especially in areas where reception is weak. this system doesn't always work on GPS, sometimes it uses your cell phone signal or wifi to update location so I can't even ever test if the GPS ever works. perhaps most of the time when it works is because it communicates with my cell phone app and uses my cell signal to update location. I can't really tell if GPS ever worked as there is no indicator that shows strength of GPS signal. The fees are slightly high for my budget, I had to pay 20 canadian dollars a month for a term of 1 year otherwise the fees will be even higher, so I had to purchase one year membership to save money. My cell phone bill is about 35 canadian dollars a month, so the membership is almost equivalent to paying a cell phone bill if you don't go with one year membership. I am paying money, even not knowing if the gps even works, if feels like throwing money in the garbage or gambling my money just in case someone steal my car there would be a small chance to catch the thief as there is no guarantee the unit will work reliably all the time.
