To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
These are made very well. They include all the hardware nuts, spacers and foam bushings to complete the build. Heavier build than the OEM hinges. But the new hinges will not fit through the OEM sized openings in the hatch housing. You will need to drill them out to 1/4" for them to fit. I did not know this prior to starting but had all the tools and skills required to do so. My first clue was when the new retaining nuts that hold the hinges to the hatch were 11mm in size not 10mm like the OEM. Pulled the first one out went to insert the Dorman replacement and the stud would not pass through. Used a step bit to make the holes 1/4" then it worked perfect. I would 5 star it if they would have mentioned it needed to be stepped out.
So far, so good. The only issue I had with these is that I had to drill out the hole in the liftgate slightly in order to get the bolt attached to the hinge through the hole in the liftgate. Attaching the second hinge, I thought to see if I could screw the bolt into the hole rather than drilling the hole out a little more, which also worked. I have no complaints so far as they work and perform like they should.
This was as ordered. All gaskets come with each one. Worth the cost. Only problem I had was the new ones bolts where bigger and I had to drill out old holes to keep from messing up treads on new ones before I could install them.
The trickiest part of this...holding the glass still while replacing the hinges. Unfortunately we had to open the glass so that we could get everything to line up; felt like herding cats for a little while at that point. Looked just like the Ford's that had been on there for nearly 20 years.
