5.0 out of 5 starsSo far, so good. Solid contender in this price range.

Day 1 (20 pint model, no pump):

- unboxed in 3 minutes; 1 thin outer cardboard box, followed by 2 pieces of Styrofoam, pack-strapped to be nested dehumidifier within.
- installation of wheels: 15 seconds each - insert wheel, snap plastic piece in place to hold them, done.
- operating in under 10 minutes: including above steps, this was plugged in and operational super quick, no annoying packaging, extra ties etc. Everything neatly wrapped and secured, only needed scissors for the straps.
- smaller than anticipated; do read and measure, however the footprint of this is quite easily moved between locations, especially with the added wheels, both carpet and floor friendly.
- noise level; on High, this is quieter than my Honeywell HPA300C air purifier (also on High - Turbo is noisier than the Midea). On Low, the noise change isn't dramatic, but the fan speed is noticably slowed. Slight vibration noticed, resolved by minorly adjusting nested position. This *could work in a bedroom at night if you're down with white noise, not at all overwhelming, and no inconsistent pings. Noise level of beeps seems unavoidable but quiet nonetheless.
- WiFi; instant setup and connection on Android, connected to Alexa in a few minutes.
- overall appearance; objectionable, but I find it clean, crisp, and the top has a much more intentionally modern design than many other models in this price range.
- accessories; well built mini wheels, heavy duty bucket, everything feels solid. Hose included, English manual clear, more directions etc available on YouTube for visual guides.

I've placed this in a high moisture bathroom for now, will update based on volume, but day one has been free of disappointments, solid buy 👍

Edit - Day 3:

Filled the bucket over 24-30 hours, went from low 60's to low 40's, all on Low Speed.

This thing is near silent. Compressor noises are very minimal. I have this in my living area and it's exactly what I'd hoped.

Edit: 2 weeks in

Yep, it's great. Still whisper quiet, half a bucket to two thirds per day while running on low. Clears a (very) hot shower bathroom in about 15-20 mins, and drastically reduces laundry drying time.

3.0 out of 5 starsFan Never Turns Off
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on June 30, 2022
I bought the 1500 sq ft Midea for my basement apartment nearly 1 month ago. It does a very good job of collecting moisture as I'm blown away at how often I empty the 22 pint collector drawer, probably 3 times per day, so I may have chosen a larger unit as I have 1000 sq ft, but 10ft ceilings. The one issue I have is that the fan NEVER turns off. This should be mentioned in the description as I was under the impression that the entire unit would shut off once it met the humidity level I had set. No. I have read, however, that the fan running all the time is not necessarily a bad thing as the compressor is what takes the most electricity. I would, though, agree with other reviewers who state that, once the Midea hits its humidity target, it does not go off... Indeed, I have had mine achieve 45% humidity, but the fan keeps running. And once I altered it to 40% it never achieved 45%. Never. This is odd as it had when I set it to 45%. ANYway, I have read that the fan pulls as much electricity as a light bulb. It had better. I cannot deal with a high electric bill simply due to this unit keeping its fan on 24/7. We'll see.

My wife and I were looking to get a dehumidifier for our small apartment. It definitely gets all the moisture out of the air. It works very well. The only downsides are, the noise level can be loud on higher levels (you can use the intensity), and emptying the lower portion can be cumbersome. You’ll need to do it often depending on your air humidity and the bucket can hold a lot of water, so it will be heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bucketless feature is amazing
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on September 18, 2022
Style: CubeSize : 1,500 Sq. Ft.Verified Purchase
I had purchased a different dehumidifier that worked well but needed to be emptied every multiple times per day. It did have an option to automatically pump out a full tank, but didn't come with the hose required to use that feature.

THIS dehumidifier also has options to empty manually or auto-pump out when full, but the most amazing feature is that it can be used without any water reservoir at all! I have it set up over the utility sink in the basement and it just drains directly into the sink through the provided hose. I will eventually have to clean the filters but I will never have to empty or clean a bucket. It needs no attention. It is awesome.

The only way this could be better is if it came with some sort of drainage hose attachment/modifier that could fit down through the openings of my basement's floor drain. The unit is a bit cumbersome, and it's heavy enough to require a sturdy shelf/platform to install over a sink (needs gravity for drainage). I was able to accommodate this, but I would not be comfortable leaving such a heavy item on a high shelf if I had children or pets in my home.

**and yes I could, but I would not unscrew the floor drain because it's sealed with floor paint at this point, and I watch enough scary movies to know that it's a bad idea to open portals to the underground.** :D

Still five stars because the bucketless feature is so amazing.

We are using this in a crawl space and have it set up to drain outside. It really has done a great job of drying out the space and has even kept it a little warmer down there.

I bought this dehumidifier to prevent/reduce windows condensation during the winter months.

Pros:
- Easy to use
- Continuuous mode
- Timer!

Cons:
- Still noisy, but not as noisy as other dehumidifiers I have owned

Still, I think it's a good quality/price ratio.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little power packer

I have the dehumidifier in my kitchen/ livingroom and the dehumidifier easily keeps my house at 41%. The air coming out of the exhaust port is powerful and I don’t even have my dehumidifier on “turbo.” The noise level, does not bother me at all as it’s like a humming away in the corner when it comes on. I do have a mini-split air conditioner in the same space area and the temperature is kept at 70’F constantly. I believe the dehumidifier runs at 12 amps/ 110 volts. I don’t notice any real change in my hydro billing with the unit running. I easily attached a garden hose to the rear of the unit. The hose conveys water directly downstairs to my sump pump. If I did go with tray emptying, I like the setup and the tray comes out nicely. Great engineering with the dehumidifier. I keep it on an automatic setting. If the house has a power failure, the unit reverts back to all the settings it had when the power was on last. The dehumidifier is small and compact fitting beautifully in the spot you see in my picture. I received the unit from Amazon fast in three days to North Bay, Ontario. They package it well in styrofoam and cardboard. No damage at all to the unit during transport delivering it right to my doorstep. People come in my home and notice a huge difference in the atmosphere between the outside and inside of my home. It truly makes living much more comfortable. I do run a top notch air purifier in my home as well that started with CoVid. My home is 800 square feet of core floor with w crawl space for a basement. It’s well insulated and with the dehumidifier, air conditioning and air purification, I never open my windows to the outside.

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s good
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on August 27, 2022

Had it for almost a month now. Done a ton of research and ended up going with this one. It’s mainly for my cellar room. My cellar room is always humid and produces too much water thus causing my pipes to mold up.

I got this because even though there’s a power outage it’ll still turn back on to the original setting you’ve last set it. So what I’ve done was put a smart plug to switch it on at 7am and off at 7pm on continuous mode.

I also like the drainage option. I’ve attached a regular 6’ hose on the back which is tall enough to allow gravity to let the water drain into the drain pipes, thus no emptying bin ever for me.

In terms of longevity and durability it’s only been a month so I can’t say. In terms of customer service not sure as I’ve never interacted with them as well.

But package was nice and feels pretty solid. I’d recommend it.

Cheers.
