I have given all 19 books 5 star ratings and for a good reason. I absolutley loved this series. I can imagine it took so much thought and concentration to write. Very technical but easy to follow. Thank you for this series. 10/10 reccomend.
Well I got through the lot. Bitterly disappointed in my own capacity to limit myself to a few chapters at a time and so make the reading experience last longer. No not I, commencing glut reading , many late nights and quite a few crappy days at work as a result. You know the kind, when you have to nip the back of your own hand to try and keep awake. Still twas worth it. This is a really great read,so much so I used to get butterflies in my stomach during the day thinking about being able to get back to the book at night. It draws you in with a very believe able story ,great characters, who get layers of interesting and down right scary things happening to them. I loved it all. Thanks so much for this, as a result I have bought Awakening, and so far.so very good to. Also, so sorry about the loss of your real life pooch. It cuts to the bone when we have to say goodbye.I appreciate it would have been terribly hard to have to keep writing about DOG..WHen your own was no longer with you,but I am so glad you did.
I have read the series back to back only having to wait, impatiently, for the final book. I was completely drawn in by the characters and feel like I know them personally now! There were tears in my eyes once I finally finished, especially with thoughts of Dog!
What a fantastic end to a brilliant series. I will be sad to not be reading a new chapter with John, Rachel and Dog but I can now start from the beginning again and read the complete adventure.. Thank you Dirk for as allowing me along for the ride.
This is the best - simply the best - EOTWAWKI series I have ever read. War, romance, sci fi, Dreamtime, espionage, drama, humour & above all - a bloody entertaining read. Congratulations Dirk Patton! Loved every single word!
I loved the entire 19 books in this series. I am so devastated that it has finished and that John & Dog won't be a part of my daily life. The characters were so real that they feel part of my family. Not just an apocalypse series of books but also a series full of love, relationships enduring hard times and strategic "games". LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. PS. I miss Dog. :-( RIP beautiful boy.
I loved the entire series. It had romance, conflict, action suspense and betrayal. You name it all the elements that makes for good reading. I gave the series only 4 stars because I was truly disappointed with the author removing Katie's character in the series. I kept looking for her to reappear. I felt she was written out of the story too soon. I think there should be a "V Plague Book 20 with Katie's character reappearing with a son almost a year older than Chase's twins. Katie's journey of the morphine not killing her, of being pregnant, infection triggerred sinking into a state of a death-like coma, presumed dead after being given fatal dose of morphine and buried. Only to awaken months later heavily pregnant infected , but rational. Imagine the story that could be developed from that. The efforts Katie has went through to keep her son hidden from becoming a meal of the infected females. The dynamics between Chase and his firstborn upon discovering his existence, etc. I just think it would be a great story to tell woven into the struggles of the survivors to rebuild with the two factions of Viktorya and Nicole having both some how survived the bombing. At any rate, just a thought and my personal desire to have the series continue. Ending, I would definitely recommend Dirk Patton's "V Plague" Series 1-19 as good reading
