Wifi terrible, Didn’t live up to expectations

It’s quite nice to look at and it’s semi affective, but not for the price. And that’s all the positives I can say sadly. I’m returning it and replacing it with the Levoit 400s - I already had a 300s but I needed a bigger unit after moving to a bigger place with more vent pollution from other units.

The coway is Wirecutter’s top choice while the Levoit is their budget pick. They’ve got it backwards, except the Coway is way more expensive! It may work faster to clear the air.. maybe in their tests, but my experience is the detection is SO bad that it’s seemingly constantly going off for the slightest dust kick up (my cat walks by) but NOT for cooking smells (PM 2.5s!!) which is most important for health. BUT there’s no way to tell because even the wifi model doesn’t tell you anything more than “good” to “unhealthy” air quality which is ZERO extra info to the light on top!!!

On top of that the wifi NEVER stays connected. I have to reconnect it every 24-48 hours and the app doesn’t even save the password or network. The only functionality the app has that the unit doesn’t is scheduling and that’s it!!

If you must go with the Coway do not bother with the wifi model. The app also regularly 404s and doesn’t remember my login.

Conversely, the Levoit wifi models are phenomenal with detailed PM2.5s & custom smart programming.

The Coway also is incredibly loud - both it’s lowest and especially it’s highest - it SHOOK a cabinet on its highest and sounded like it was going to explode, so I’m not surprised the fans break on these things.

On top of all this the light is unbearably bright, which you can turn off, but then what’s the point!

I also found it didn’t reduce smells much either, unlike some reviews promised.

Too bad I have to send it back! I was trying to treat myself to the “top end” air purifier but it feels and operates so cheap.

Oh, last poor point - there’s nothing to help you pick this thing up and move it around - the only spot to hold it pulls the filter cover off!

Got this to be able to use the app. The app was great for a while, the update that rolled out this week (10/24/22) is HORRIFIC. It forces you to update.

It logs you out, forces you to make a whole new login for something it doesn’t explain, wants a TON of your user data, then sends you emails in Korean to confirm your info…

The app sent me in circles for 30 minutes trying to log back in. I attempted to log in at least 20 times before the error glitch I kept getting quit and I could get past it.

Then I had to re-register my product.

Idk who they hired to do their code design for the app, but they probably shouldn’t be in this field.

It’s wifi will not connect. I have at least 50 IoT devices of various types with no problems, so it’s definitely the air purifier that’s broken. All you get is an annoying blinking light that can’t be turned off. The air purifier itself seems fine, just don’t get the wifi version.

It cleans the air but don't expect it to connect to your Home WiFi. We have a 3 unit EERO matrix system that covers the house and back yard. All of our devices, phones, iPads, laptops, computers, smart switches, Alaxa... etc etc etc connect and reconnect when required but not the 2 Conway air purifiers we have. Their service enter could not help and had no Idea how to help. They have referred the problem some engineering group in Korea. The app needs a lot of work to be useful and the fan system is loud.

Its a good air purifier, but the WIFI feature is horrible. Don't pay up for the WIFI & go with the cheaper version without WIFI. The WIFI and app are good features when they work, but they don't work well & offer more frustration than benefit. So no way I'd pay up for this model again.

If you are buying this to have a WiFi connected air purifier. Don’t. Look elsewhere it can’t connect to 5ghz, it can’t connect to mesh WiFi. I got it connected for about 10 minutes after jumping through tons of hoops. Then it dropped and I can’t get it connected again.
