First, the cover I have with the women on it is more telling then this plain cover. Second, like all books about the women's accomplishments, its like go up hill with every story I read. Although, the women's story were amazing and pioneering it seem the more they try to advance there was always someone to push them back down again. I never understand why someone succeeding makes someone else feel inferior and determine to stop someone else.
I like though that no matter who tries to deter them that women keep trying to be present in this world and still do extraordinary things when others say they can't or shouldn't. And I never understand why men in this book kept trying to make it about sex instead of being treated equally.

I very much enjoyed reading history centering on the female side. Some things I knew, but I was happy to find gems throughout of people I had never heard of or of things I didn't know about some of our more noted history makers. The one change I would make is to put pictures at the end of each chapter so that we can see them just after having read about them
