I've been debating ona tailgate pad for the past 4 years and finally went with this one. I've been messing around with front fork mounts, but ever since getting a new bike with a thru axle, the selection has been limited.
I've been using this pad on a 2019 5th Gen Ram 1500. Fits great and has access to the rear camera. Note that the flap doesn't have anything to hold up the flap to clear the camera, however you can use the existing straps to secure it. Material is durable and the soft side is soft enough so that it doesn't mess up the paint.
The one thing I would like to see is having more rubber padding on the exterior part of the tail gate, sort of what Fox has. But other than that it's very sturdy and does the job at a good price.
As for installation, fairly easy. I would recommend on doing the sides first and then tackle the middle strap by slightly lifting the tail up to get clearance. Also another note is try to find a long pick or hook to pull the straps through the bottom of the tailgate.
